Update time!

Hey, so it's been a while since our last update. Here's what's been going on:

In late March, we visited another local church, and had a great time talking with some of the church members at lunch afterwards. They are in a transitional period right now, and did not have a senior pastor at the time. They have since found a new pastor, who I also got to spend some time with at last month's Central Florida Presbytery meeting, so we may be able to continue to build relationships there. Please pray for them as they go through this shift in leadership!

As mentioned, I attended my first meeting of the Central Florida Presbytery (I'm not a member, but was given permission to set up a display there). It was an interesting chance to see how the Presbyterian Church system of governance works, and I got to make a few connections there, but it doesn't seem to have made a significant impact on our support raising activity.

We also had several family events, including two funerals (one on each side of my family), a family reunion, and a graduation. That sent us up to Jacksonville one weekend and Atlanta another, so we've spent a good amount of time in the car over the last month. We've been blessed to be able to maintain a wonderful relationship even with such a great amount of time in very close quarters. All of those events were fun, in fact, even though there was sadness as well with the two funerals. We hope to have a calmer summer, but we're certainly not counting on it!

As with the previous updates, I'll end this simply by saying we plan to keep in touch via this blog more often, so we'll plan on another update in about 2 weeks. Keep checking back, or you can follow us on Facebook and we'll notify you when a new update has been posted.
