"Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be the miracle."
Phillips Brooks (1835 - 1893)
These past months, we can honestly say that we feel as though we are praying for powers equal to our tasks, not the other way around. This work, both the work that will get us to Japan, and the work that we will do in Japan, is not within our power to perform. We feel that every day. It is not an easy task, but we know that God's power is sufficient. Even with that knowledge, though, we feel completely unqualified to do what God has put on our hearts to do.
And the more we feel that way, the more God will be able to use us.
Pray that we will remember, always, that we are incapable of any of this on our own. We may think at times that some of it is tasks we can perform. Think that we can push through, do it on our own. We can't. We have to lean wholly on God for even the power to keep moving, to make it through the next day. Let us never forget that.

Great reminder! If you guys make it up to NC let us know!
Thanks, we'll make sure to do that. If not, we'll see you in Japan, hopefully!
